Everything You Need to Know About the New Lamborghini Urus SE.

The new Urus SE from Lamborghini is available in India for a starting price of Rs. 4.57 crore, ex-showroom. The Performante and S versions of the Urus have been replaced by the new SE variant, making the vehicle a plug-in hybrid. The Urus SE receives updated technology and features, a redesigned exterior, interior, and drive train. Built on the Volkswagen Group MLB Evo platform, the Urus shares many components with other Volkswagen Group luxury SUVs, such as the Audi Q7, Bentley Bentayga, Porsche Cayenne, and Volkswagen Touareg.

The Urus SE features a twin-turbo 4.0L V8 engine, delivering a maximum power output of 620 CV (456 kW) at 6000 RPM and a maximum torque of 800 Nm between 2250-4500 RPM. Additionally, It includes a high-voltage lithium-ion battery with a total energy of 25.9 kWh and a rear electric motor providing 141 kW and 483 Nm of torque, enabling over 60 km of Full EV Driving Mode. The Urus SE features a new rear aero lip and diffuser that increase downforce by 35% compared to the Urus S, enhancing stability at high speeds. : New underbody air vents and improved air ducts have been implemented to meet the cooling demands of the hybrid powertrain, improving overall cooling performance by 15%.

The Urus SE uses a four-wheel-drive (4WD) system that distributes power to all four wheels, improving traction and stability across various driving conditions. It has a hang-on central differential for dynamic longitudinal torque vectoring and an electronic rear differential for dynamic lateral torque vectoring, allowing for precise control of power distribution between the front and rear wheels, improving agility and handling. The electronic rear differential in the Urus SE allows for dynamic lateral torque vectoring, which optimises power distribution to the rear wheels. This enhances cornering performance and stability by adjusting the torque sent to each wheel based on driving conditions and inputs.

The Urus SE features six driving modes—Strada, Sport, Corsa, Sabbia, Terra, and Neve—each tailored for different road conditions and driving styles, enhancing performance and handling. The Urus SE features a redesigned exterior with a new bonnet, front bumper, grille, and updated Matrix headlights, enhancing its aggressive and sporty appearance. The interior has been upgraded with a new dashboard layout, redesigned aluminum trim, and a wider centre screen, providing a more modern and user-friendly cockpit experience.

The car includes a new brake cooling concept that enhances braking consistency by 30%, along with the introduction of the Push-to-Pass button for maximum performance during overtaking manoeuvres Finally, The Urus SE features an improved exhaust system that delivers a louder and sporty engine sound, enhancing the overall driving experience with the Helmholtz Resonator, interacts with the airflow to modify pressure and improve the exhaust note, creating a high-pitch sound. The new X-Cross design merges the sound from each engine bank, resulting in a unique and enriched final exhaust tone that is distinctive both inside and outside the cockpit.
